Maritime Security
Since the early 2000s, CLS has been assisting public authorities such as customs, coast guards, national navies, and regional maritime security agencies as well as private maritime operators, including freight companies and shipowners, in carrying out their missions.
Maritime Compliance
CLS Southern Africa is recognized by leading regional maritime authorities and fully qualified to meet essential compliance requirements, including LRIT, regional VMS, and INMARSAT-C.
Beyond compliance, CLS Southern Africa offers an integrated fleet management solution, ShipLoc, designed to optimize vessel operations. By merging multiple data sources into a single platform, ShipLoc enhances decision-making, operational efficiency, and situational awareness across all maritime activities.
Our AI-powered Maritime Awareness System (MAS) leverages Big Data analytics and multi-source data fusion to deliver a comprehensive, real-time view of maritime activity. MAS supports authorities and operators in detecting abnormal behaviors, identifying risks, and improving maritime domain awareness across vast oceanic regions.
In addition, our THEMIS SAR (Search and Rescue) platform supports maritime rescue coordination centers by enabling the real-time management of distress alerts, the coordination of search operations, and the deployment of rescue assets to the most relevant search areas. This advanced tool improves responsiveness, accuracy, and safety during critical missions at sea.
Through close collaboration with regional authorities and maritime organizations, CLS Southern Africa contributes to safer and more sustainable seas within African Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs). By combining cutting-edge technology, scientific expertise, and local partnerships, we help strengthen maritime governance and support the development of a responsible blue economy across the continent.
